Information Architect III – Baltimore

Our Information Architect provides critical support as a member of part of the information governance team supporting a major government agency. Demonstrating seasoned experience in guiding efforts to define the mission, goals, critical success factors, principles, and policies for information strategy and architecture.  You can expect to work across customer directorates to help the government coordinate the development of new and/or modified / enhanced capabilities for operational use.  The team here at Verascit Tactical systems recognizes talent and strives to bring them to the right mission where their skills have the highest impact.  Serving in this role you can expect to be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of reference models to information architecture during design and maintain alignment with standards and best practices for ontology representation
  • Develop search optimization best practices and strategies
  • Simplify content creation processes, gather organizational ontology from diverse resources, systems, and formats
  • Work with stakeholder groups to articulate information requirements and build familiarity with information architecture principles and artifacts
  • Guide efforts to define the mission, goals, critical success factors, principles, and policies for information strategy and architecture
  • Analyze content and advise users on content and metadata to improve findability of content
  • Analyze search analytics, develop actions to be taken based on user behavior and develop reports showcasing overall statistics and use behavior
  • Coordinate with User Experience specialists to ensure that proposed information architecture aligns with user needs and research findings
  • Build a framework that encourages integration of policy, procedure, system help, training, and other useful resources
  • Create a usable and accessible content resource for up to 80,000 internal users
  • Establish information architecture metrics to analyze user behavior patterns that drive information architecture and usability improvements to the Intranet and the enterprise in general

Required Qualifications

Three (3) years specifically focused in:

  • Cross-referencing between concepts, managing associations between terms and their acronyms, and creating a synonym mapping between references, titles, and terms
  • Analyzing intranet sites for underlying structure and organization of large quantities of information
  • Creating index terms for properly identifying or tagging large quantities of content
  • Managing enterprise-level content management systems
  • Migrating from a static document-based publishing model to a dynamic resource of simple, granular, reusable content

Education and relevant years of Information Technology related experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree with an additional seven (7) years
  • Master's Degree with an additional five (5) years
  • Eleven (11) years of relevant experience such as Library Science or Information Science

**MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN CAPABLE OF OBTAINING A PUBLIC TRUST**

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with IBM Domino and/or Pega tool
  • Ability to produce current- and future-state information architecture artifacts that model conceptual, logical, and physical layers of abstraction
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of information governance practices and standards
  • Understanding of User-centered design approach that integrates accessibility throughout the application design process
